Don’t get caught up by the fabled 70. There is danger in playing this game when you pay high prices for non-rarities such as these. In 2007, there was a 1999-S State Quarter graded PF70 DCAM by PCGS which auctioned for over $17k. The person who sold it was wise for doing so.
Perhaps he knew in 2011, the auctioned price would only reach a bit over $2000? Don’t rely on population reports when it comes to non-rarities. You never know when or how many coins will come aboard for the same grade in the future — and further the destruction of the value of your coin you paid so much for. Perfect coins in a nutshell: Love them, but don’t pay too much.-
